Con Man was inspired by 1950s Doo Wop and early 90s alternative rock. Joey wrote the lyrics while driving a pickup truck in Grand Rapids Michigan delivering semi-truck parts for Vally Truck Parts. The song was recorded in Los Angeles California at Joey’s apartment. “Con Man” is about seeing through the words and actions of someone with ulterior motives. The artwork for this song also inspired the Cuss Face t-shirt “What Ya Gonna Do?”.

The song’s Instrumentation includes guitar, lead guitar, bass guitar, and drums. The sound of the song was inspired by the production of Weezer’s Pinkerton and Blur’s Song 2.
Con Man was also licensed by the TV show “The Circus”. It accompanies the end credits for one of the episodes of season 5.

Con Man Lyrics…
Since I filled you in / You been scheming / I see your left eye is / Still twitching
I know the hunger / Gnawing under / Carefully chosen / Doppelgänger
The con man is back / You better believe it / The con man is back / As sure as I’m breathing
got your excuses / Phony intentions / Working the angles / In desperation
You keep calling /coming / My skin is crawling / think It’s about time / I cut the phone line
I see the claws Hidden / Under lambs wool again / Behind the smooth-talking / I see the fangs waiting
